Cable Gland

A cable gland, also known as a cable connector or cable fitting, is a device used to secure and seal the end of an electrical cable as it enters an electrical enclosure or device. Cable glands provide protection against dust, moisture, and other environmental factors, and help prevent the cable from being pulled or twisted, which can damage the cable or disrupt its electrical connection.

Cable glands typically consist of a threaded housing and a sealing mechanism. The housing is threaded onto a hole in the enclosure or device, and the cable is inserted through the gland's sealing mechanism. The sealing mechanism can be compression-based, such as with a gland nut and sealing ring or it can be a barrier gland that provides a barrier between the cable and the enclosure.

The cable gland ensures a secure and watertight connection between the cable and the enclosure, while also providing strain relief to prevent the cable from being pulled out. Cable glands come in various sizes and materials to accommodate different cable diameters and environmental requirements.
